Toastmasters

I will be presenting at the regional meeting of the AAfPE (paralegal educators) and I took the opportunity to practice a couple of parts of my presentation at Toastmasters. I know you have probably heard it before, but what a wonderful organization!

I was able to practice my speech as well as get specific feedback on improvement. I highly recommend the group if you are looking to polish your speaking skills or leadership skills. Do not be intimidated, it is a very friendly and fun organization that is dedicated to personal improvement.

My presentation is about online learning, in particular how we can leverage technology to promote community building, critical thinking and critical self reflection. A slide show and resource list is available by clicking on AAFPE on my homepage Guide on Your Side.

Don't Break Your Shin

I saw an Irish saying a couple of weeks back that said "Don't break your shin on a stool that's not in your way." Hmm. Ever do that?

Why Children Look Cute to Us

I found this article while planning my daughter's birthday party. It talks about our admiration for a child's honesty.

What can we do to be more child-like (not child-ish) in our daily lives? Why do we guard our feelings so much when it only leads to misunderstandings? Can have a world where finding out someone actually respects you isn't a shocking revelation?
